The navy blue and grey Hard Hat cooling pads are soaked in cold water for 20-30 minutes. The specially formulated cooling polymer crystals in the navy blue and grey versions absorb the cold water and stay hydrated for 2 full days.
The Hyperkewl™ fabric version, in blue, does not have cooling crystals but the fabric itself absorbs cold water to provide the cooling effect.
The pad is attached to the inside of your hard hat by using velcro straps.
The blood vessels close to the skin in your head are cooled as they come into contact with the pad, bringing down your body temperature.
The grey version meets ASTM F1506 standard, has an Arc Rating: ATPV = 7.2 cal/cm2
It is made from 6 oz. Grey Flame Resistant treated cotton and is good for 50 washes.
